Changes

By now we have all received our welcome back letters from the Superintendent and CHANGE is the word of the year. So one change I am going to make is to keep up our KTTA blog. I will try to make it as informative as I can since so many of us are too busy and too far away to make many union meetings. Please add it to your favorites, become a follower, check back occasionally, and send me anything you think is of interest to the entire group and I will do my best to include it.

The first days of school

August 24, 2010 opens the new school year for KTJUSD teachers and support staff. The day will include opening remarks by our new/interim/probationary superintendent. The KTTA and CSEA unions will each hold meetings as well. Wednesday, August 25 will be site days. Teachers will meet with their administrators and do general housekeeping. There should be some time for teachers to be in their classrooms in the afternoon. This year, Thursday will be a glorious teacher work day for getting rooms ready, syllabi printed, and general readiness for students and the year to come. On Friday,  schools will begin with a half day of instruction and introductions. It will be open house for students and parents culminating with lunch.

All books and ancillary supplies are supposed to be organized and ready for teachers. Check your requirements and ask your administrator for anything you are missing.
